Widespider, LLC is a company that presents a suite of software applications delivered as services (SAAS) developed (and licensed from Semantic Labs, LLC) which permits content (text and video) to be targeted, aggregated and published for site integration or emailing, and then updated automatically.
The suite of applications includes service offerings for both businesses and consumers, and includes ad-supported, fee-based and recurring revenue models.

YORK EGGLESTON, IV
Co-Founder/Chief Executive Officer
York brings a wealth of experience in management, finance, and problem-solving for mature as well as start-up businesses. Over the last 15 years he has used his unique set of talents in the development or co-development of several media and technology businesses, each of which has specialized in motivating customer decisions and measuring consumer behavior and performance.
Mr. Eggleston has founded or co-founded several technology, technology-enabled or new media ventures. He is an inventor and patent author in the areas of promotion automation over networks, interactive promotion branding, and point of sale fulfillment.
In addition, Mr. Eggleston sits on the advisory boards of the UMBC’s Alex Brown Center for Entrepreneurship and Sub-Basement Art Studios and has been a contributor to both academic and commercial journals and publications. Mr. Eggleston has a bachelor’s degree from Harvard College and an MBA Degree with Distinction from Harvard Business School with an emphasis on Finance and Operations.
Co-Founder and Chief Technology Officer
Llewellyn brings over 15 years of software development and advanced architecture experience to the firm. Mr. Wall is a highly innovative technology executive with extensive cutting-edge programming experience. He has a strong background in genetics, artificial intelligence, computer graphics, and Web development.
At a time when it didn’t yet exist, he developed all of the original back and front end code for one of the first award-winning, major e-commerce sites, and he has several patents pending. Mr. Wall founded and acted as chief technology officer for Decis e-Direct, where he created a Web-based application for business and advanced e-commerce solutions using artificial intelligence technologies. He was senior technologist/manager at RomeBlack Inc., where he planned and developed advanced Internet and intranet sites and prototypes for such clients as Dow Jones, Bank of Tokyo, Mitsubishi, and IBM North America.
Mr. Wall’s background in computer science from the University of Pittsburgh (focussing on artificial intelligence and data visualization), combines the structure of fundamental training with a natural gift for developing creative and innovative software solutions. For several years at the University of Pittsburgh he performed independent research and was research assistant to the school’s leading AI Professor, Dr. Robert Daley.
WILLIAM LEE MAPP
William Lee Mapp, III is one of the world’s leading software designers and architects. Having received his first computer at age 7, Will has been writing programs ever since. He was instrumental in the success of the US Census Bureau’s 2010 Census as the external interface technical lead for all data products. The 2010 Census project received 4 positive Inspector Evaluation Reports (IERs) for the external interface alone from the Inspector General’s office and has been noted as the most successful US Census on record. He is an expert in embedded and mobile technologies using high transactional processing and was part of the Capture Tech team in the deployment of the first RFID enabled bookshelf in the Netherlands. His RFID experiences extend to down to the consumer. He is the designer for the embedded data capture software running on Motorola RFID readers deployed at McKesson Corporation distribution centers in the United States. McKesson delivers pharmaceutical products to Target, CVS, and Walgreen stores; so, if you have picked up a prescription at one of these stores your products were scanned by software designed by him.
Will has been working with embedded systems since designing the testing systems for the US Navy’s vertical launching system for Lockheed Martin and was instrumental in the sonar sensor systems for the US Navy’s Seawolf attack submarine. He has a long pedigree of past experiences having worked for IBM Corporation, Wandel and Goltermann Technologies, Tecore Wireless Systems, Lockheed Martin, the National Aeronautics and Space Administration, BA Systems, and of course the Studio.
He is a world renowned speaker having delivered talks and keynotes about RFID technology in Europe and the Middle East, design patterns in data capture techniques, and high transactional data processing strategies. He has contributed to RFID Journal Magazine and currently writes a weekly column for the Mobile Developers’ Network.
Quity organizations. (This research is collected in three books, The Venture Capital Cycle, The Money of Invention, and Boulevard of Broken Dreams.) He also examines policies on innovation and how they impact firm strategies. (That research is discussed in the books Innovation and Its Discontents, The Comingled Code, and the Architecture of Innovation.) He co-directs the National Bureau of Economic Research’s Productivity, Innovation, and Entrepreneurship Program and serves as co-editor of their publication, Innovation Policy and the Economy. He founded and runs the Private Capital Research Institute, a nonprofit devoted to encouraging access to data and research about venture capital and private equity, and serves as vice-chair of the World Economic Forum’s Global Agenda Council on the Future of Investing.
In the 1993-1994 academic year, he introduced an elective course for second-year MBAs. Over the past two decades, “Venture Capital and Private Equity” has consistently been one of the largest elective courses at Harvard Business School. (The course materials are collected in Venture Capital and Private Equity: A Casebook, now in its fifth edition, and the textbook Venture Capital, Private Equity, and the Financing of Entrepreneurship.) He also teaches a doctoral course on entrepreneurship and chairs the Owners-Presidents-Managers Program and executive courses on private equity.
Among other recognitions, he is the winner of the Swedish government’s Global Entrepreneurship Research Award. He has recently been named one of the 100 most influential people in private equity over the past decade by Private Equity International magazine and one of the ten most influential academics in the institutional investing world by Asset International’s Chief Investment Officer magazine. He currently serves as Vice Chair of the World Economic Forum’s Global Agenda Council on the Future of Investing.
KEITH MACHEN, ESQ
Mr. Machen has a focus on being an effective business leader with global experience in building business models, shaping strategy, closing deals, raising capital and lawyering in start-ups, established companies and turnarounds. Mr. Machen has a broad range of experience, from several years at leading law firms, to several years as General Counsel and/or President of leading and emerging technology companies. He has worked at developing and building start-up operations, and he has been a Principal in a venture capital firm.
Mr. Machen enjoys working with innovative technology, where he can be part of ambitious, passionate teams working on creative, disruptive, and challenging projects. Mr. Machen earned his Bachelor of Science degree in management and accounting from Purdue University and his J.D. from the University of Michigan Law School.
